No one likes a lockdown. Nonetheless, Ghana-born rapper, Henry June, has used the period to explore his avid passion for music. The government-mandated lockdown in the UK presented the perfect opportunity for June to bolster his
artistry. Adding to his rap skills developed during his College years in Pennsylvania, June used the extra time that the lockdown afforded him to teach himself how to produce a variety of R & B and hip-hop tracks mirroring the diverse soundscapes on 'Sofa Sounds', his debut EP.
June’s debut EP explores a range of sounds including Lo-fi chill hip hop production on 'Chill', the groovy boom-bap beat on 'My nigga’ and the smooth R & B sound of 'Orbit'. With his engaging storytelling style, introspective and retrospective lyrics and distinct voice, June provides insight into his life, highlighting obstacles and his journey to overcome them. as well as challenges with sustaining relationships with friends and partners.
