The Green Leaves

Formed in 2013 by Grant Huffman and Michael O’Hara, The Green Leaves was named in the goal of capturing the beautiful imagery of a flourishing, lively, and vivid landscape. Originally created as an internet project, the duo composed songs by making individual recordings and sending them to each other via email. In an effort to cross atmospheric ambient music with brutality, the duo wrote six songs, five of which became the Deforestation EP (released January 6th, 2017). Seven months later, the band released their only single to date, titled “Entropy” (released July 21st, 2017). Following the release of Entropy, they wrote tirelessly until they had compiled fifteen tracks, which became their debut full-length album, BLEAK, released July 27th, 2018. On the same day, the band made their live debut with Damon Vojtkovsky as their drummer. The band’s main focus since the release of BLEAK has been playing shows, and have since performed in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The Green Leaves played as a 3 piece for several months until February 2019, when Jackson Stringer joined the band on bass to fill out the group’s live performance and sound. Writing continued for the band's 3rd release, "The Bad Place" which debuted on January 10th, 2020.

The Green Leaves is writing new music for their 4th release, and have shows and festivals planned across the Midwest for the Summer and Fall of 2020.
