Formed in North Carolina in 2013 by multi-instrumentalist Stephen Warwick, Ancient Cities has melds 60's/70's influenced rock n roll with a modern twist. They've independently released two albums; their self-titled debut in 2014 and sophomore follow-up Supermoon Blackout in 2016. Both albums were recently released on vinyl via Refresh Records. Songs from those albums have been featured on Showtime's Shameless, and ABC's Imaginary Mary. In 2015, they chosen by Converse to play Newport Folk Festival and were featured in Vanity Fair and The Village Voice (NYC) that same year. Ancient Cities has toured up and down the east coast sharing the stage with Walk the Moon, The Naked and Famous, Dr. Dog, Deer Tick, and Houndmouth to name a few. They've also recorded live video session with PASTE magazine (ATL/NYC) and Live & Breathing (TN). Their most recent release is a cover of Tom Petty's song "Don't Come Around Here No More" featuring members of Seratones (Fat Possum), with all proceeds going to Levine Children's Hospital in their home town of Charlotte. They're set to release their third album in early 2019....more
