What do you get when you put five passionate, young guys with a musical dream and a lot of ambition together? That’s right! The birth of a new Belgian band was announced by releasing their band name. After long brainstorm sessions and leading and disposing of ideas, the time had come: Suncreek was born. The band brings a mixture of new wave, post punk and garage rock, which makes many rock ‘n’ roll fanatics headbang. Influences by bands like The Cure, The Libertines and Red Zebra are present, but that doesn’t rob Suncreek of their own sound. Once the heavy tunes resonate through the boxes, there’s no escaping it anymore: you turn of your mind and it’s all systems go.
The ball really started rolling when the band paid a visit to the Trix in Antwerp. The formula ‘Demo In A Day’ made sure that no less than eight tracks got recorded, meaning to release them some time later. The real fans got a few previews because of the small-scale shows close to Suncreek’s cradle. It was decided to let three of the eight tracks loose into the world...more
