Aimé Nkanu
Career
The eldest of a Christian family of six children, Aimé Nkanu Nzuzi was born in Matadi in 1972. From a very young age, he had already dreamed of serving the Lord in song.
But his father wanted to see him exercise any job, more economic except that of musician, because for him being a musician led nowhere and had no future. Unlike his mother who already saw this talent bubbling in him.
When he was 8 years old, he enrolled in the youth choir of the evangelical alliance community in Congo in his town of Matadi. It was difficult for this little child to get started, but thanks to the affection of those close to him, he managed to find a place for himself.
When he was 15, he decided to be baptized. Certainly, he knew Jesus, he served him but he had not yet accepted him as Lord and savior in his life.
The teenager he was, was attracted by several musical groups that landed in his hometown of Matadi.
Arrived in Kinshasa, he took his first steps in music, later he joined the group "Sango Malamu" then the group the "cherubin" alongside brother Runo Nvumbi and other great figures of Congolese Christian music of the time.
But he did not abandon his studies because in 1991, he obtained his state diploma in biology-chemistry option at the Salongo Institute in the commune of Bandalungwa. His father enrolled him in the American Christian University and he returned home in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in management economics.
In 1998, he left for France still for his studies but released before his first album entitled "I must leave" which was considered by many as a premonitory title. It is this title that made him known throughout the world. It is completely the beginning of a great adventure of his musical career.
From this album, Aimé Nkanu knows the greatest success and no longer knew how to concentrate on his studies from where he had to choose between the path of his destiny which was linked to his voice and his studies.
He chooses to drop out of class to serve his God through his voice. After France, he returned to the country and created the worship group "Amina" in 2003 and released his second album titled "Parfum".
In 2006, another album came out called "Devant ta face" which is composed of songs.
He then chained other albums with songs like Histoire d'amour, Unkuatishe in 2007, and others.
His career in good shape, he was able to start another course at the University by opting to do theology at the Protestant University of Kinshasa.
Aimé Nkanu was an accomplished artist. Together with his group, he managed to make a name for himself in Congolese Christian music.
In his walk with the Lord, he always seeks to do more and strives for excellence in the work of God.
