Colm Richardson

Colm Richardson is a Singer / Songwriter currently living in Nottingham, who has played in rock bands as well as played many gigs as a solo artist across the Midlands since the age of 18. Born in Northern Ireland in 1984, Colm grew up living in different parts of England since the age of 2 and first picked up a guitar at the age of 14. He was also a singer in his school’s choir, where Colm first discovered his vocal range, dispite his reluctance with being in a choir. Colm is heavily influenced by many bands and artists such as Radiohead, Pink Floyd, The Connell’s, Arcade Fire and Neil Young amongst others.


Having previously been the singer / rhythm guitarist in Derby Alt. rock band Testcard Theory, and more recently, a vocalist and guitarist for Derby based Rock band @PerfectCadence, Colm has performed both as a solo artist and in a duet with fellow singer / songwriter Jamie Scott. In September 2016, Colm’s first solo album, ‘A Familiar Story’ was released which features a collection of acoustic songs written by Colm since his teenage years.


As a solo artist, Colm’s music ranges in style from folk to alternative rock. Colm’s vocals range from tenor to falsetto and has the ability to reach and sustain notes over a wide vocal range. Although he admits to not being the most gifted of guitarist, he makes up for it with his ability to write melodic rifts and compositions with thought provoking lyrics with each song he writes telling their own story.
