Elson Sutanto, of the Elson Band, is an up-and-coming London-based singer-songwriter.
Elson’s family, originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, migrated to the UK in the 1970’s. Growing up In London, in the 1980’s, Elson was exposed to a range of sources of music – starting with the gospel and soul records played frequently by his parents in the home – to the Pop, Pop-Rock, Soul and R&B CDs his elder siblings listened to on a daily basis.
By Age 17 years of age, Elson started writing and singing his own songs, and, in his 20’s began to gig in and around numerous London venues.
Elson’s songs and the musical performances of himself and band have both been likened to “a blend of Elton John-style piano accompanied by catchy, heartfelt, melodies reminiscent of classic 60’s soul artists such as Sam Cooke and Donny Hathaway”....more
