K-Ruth

American hip-hop artist “K-Ruth” from Tampa, Florida integrates heartfelt soulness with her metallic tone and powerful lyrics. Born Shqurria Walker August 10th 1997, the ambitious talent began writing at age 9. She developed her sound through the church while singing in choir as a soprano. While preaching at the podium on Youth Sundays, she grew up having different perspectives from a family of hustlers doing whatever it takes to survive and having faith in the size of a mustard seed. Her father influenced K-Ruth in her affinity for music by exposing her to recording studios and signing her up for local competitions. Later on amongst being accepted to Florida State University, financial stability crippled her academic direction in 2016. She made the decision to move to Tampa and committed full time to her craft. By then her first single "Queen" on SoundCloud gained her local recognition. Growing momentum, K-Ruth released a mixtape "Poetic Confessions'' which created a high demand to perform headlining local concerts and booking her own sold out venue shows. In 2018, she followed up her second mixtape "Psalms 23". A year later K-Ruth found herself in a rebuilding stage and released one of her most streamed singles "She Gave Us PAIN". The versatile female musician continues to prove she can wear many hats while delivering female empowerment anthems.
