Mpumelelo “Maps” Maphumulo, is a South African born rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Durban the sunny city of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Although he has been making music for 9 years, Maps only initially gained recognition as a rapper following the release of his debut Mix-tape "Too Real To Be Famous" in early 2016, followed by a single release titled Hell's Kitchen in 2018. Intent on further pursuing an independent solo career as a Hip-hop Artist, he went on to release a 7 track EP titled "From The Heart" in July 2019 on all streaming platforms, which displayed vivid lyricism, story telling and hip-hop craftsmanship... discussing life experiences, anguish and heartbreak, while sharing inspirational wisdom and lessons. These detailed monologues are truly felt deeply and are deserving of the EP’s title.
Self-taught on music production, Maps also acts as a producer for himself alongside his hip-hop career, producing singles like “She Found Me”, “Wait A Lil Longer” and “No Matter What” from his debut mix-tape.
Following the release of “From The Heart” Maps has endeavored on a challenge to Drop 1 single every week until he reaches Idol status in the hip-hop community....more
