Christenberry

I grew up in a bubble. Not only was I in the Bible-Belt where there’s a church on every corner and southern hospitality is the norm, but I also grew up surrounded by neighbors who became my family. My next door neighbors and I tore down the fence in our backyard because I was either at their house, or they were at mine. Wherever we were, we were together. It was a symbol of us claiming each other as family, even though there was no blood relation.

Family, whether blood or not, has always been why I do what I do and always will be. That’s why I go by “Christenberry”. It’s my last name and represents all of the people throughout the years who have taken time to invest in me and help me become the man I am today.

Today I find myself doing something I never thought I would be doing. I have the absolute privilege of writing songs for the family of God. My goal is that by my music, the Church would be inspired to come together as brothers and sisters in Christ, modeling our lives in such a way that we tear down some fences in this crazy world we are called to love.
