Vobweleka Bweleka
Mwembe Muntu is a member of the award winning Zambian hip hop duo; Black Muntu who pioneered a branch of Rap called “Kali-Funku”. KaliFunku embraces both Kalindula and many other international genres such as Jazz, R&B, Pop, Country, Dancehall and mainly Hip hop. By early 2000 their creation “Kali-Funku” had already hit mainstream media.
Black Muntu introduced so much change in the industry and the hype that has been used as a model of marketing hip hop through feuds and media stunts such as replicated by Macky 2 and Slap Dee after the perceived Zambian commercial flagship “Black Muntu Beef” by fans.
As a solo artiste, Mwembe Muntu has throughout his career ingeniously multiple Collaborations and Industry Brand Recognition with award winning acts across different genres.
